About Us

The Night Heron Suspension Collective was founded by Melanie and Jesse in Oakland, California in 2025.

Melanie did her first suspension in 2014 and has been actively facilitating suspensions since 2019. She is an instructor for the 13 Hooks Seminars. Jesse did his first suspension in 2013 and has been actively facilitating suspensions since 2024. He is a Fakir Intensives alum.

After many years of attending and facilitating at suspension events around the world, we decided to start hosting our own events here in Oakland. Some of the events we have attended include: Oslo SusCon, Hang You, Mecca, Ontario SusCon, Denver SusCon, Res Rites, Xalapa Zipline Suspensions, Ahimsa, The Ōtautahi Hook Suspension Symposium, and BMXnet.
